Sewa Pledge was conceived as a ground-up project as part of the Sikh Singapore community's celebrations to commemorate the 550th Birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in 2019.
Drawing on our 1st Guru's teachings on Vand Ke Chakna (sharing the
fruits of one's labour), and with the support and blessings of Sikh organizations and community leaders, Sewa Pledge aims for the Sikh community in Singapore to collectively pledge 550,000 hours of volunteer service done by
31 December 2019.
Whether you are volunteering in the Sikh community or outside of it, as long as you are a Sikh and are contributing to a cause, please do join us in clocking in your sewa hours. In achieving this
pledged milestone, the Sikh Singapore community also aims to document the community's collective contribution to the nation and the wider society.
